A Great Idea for the Welfare State

So it seems we are becoming more and more a welfare state. Even Clinton got rid of some of the welfare while he was president, but our Socialist in Chief, soon to be armed with a filibuster proof majority, is determined to pay off all of his constituency with other peoples money, so lets look at this a bit.

He said time and again that he was giving a tax break to 95% of America during the campaign. Of course, the problem with this only about 60% of America actually pays the taxes, so this is a direct payment to the voters that pay no taxes from those that do. It’s a bribe. Vote for me, I pay you.

The Welfare Mom pumping out kids to get more and more in payments for their vote is soon to be back. She’s like the Blob, she never goes away, just hides for awhile, until the conditions are right to come out and feed again.

Well, conditions are perfect now. I saw a sign that said, Obama says he will pay my mortgage, provide me with food, and give me job training….What the heck do I want with a job!

That about sums it up. As more people get on welfare to subsist, more people will vote Democrat because those nasty Republicans want you to actually work for a living for yourself.

Yesterday, a lady told me something that inspired me to write this blog posting, she said people on welfare should have to pass random drug screenings just the same as most employers require these days.

Wow. The libertarian in me says, no, no more government requirements for anything, but the justicar in me says, right on!

If I am forced to take these tests to gain employment and then keep it, why shouldn’t those on the public dole prove they aren’t using my tax money to pay for their illegal drugs. Besides, wouldn’t we want to know if their kids are being subjected to illegal drug use?

I think it’s brilliant and easily implementable and just makes common sense. So my libertarian side loses on this one, but I understand if you repel from it.

I think those on the public dole should likewise be required to fill out x amount of job applications a month to get their checks also, but I would be happy just with the drug testing.

This will never happen, it’s simply my jaunt into fairyland where everything is good and makes sense, but wouldn’t it be nice? Wouldn’t it?

Cheers!
