Whether it’s a free and fair election, or a coupe, or some other way of coming in to power, the first time a communist wins a countries highest office, he plans on being in office from that point forward (if not himself, his proxies).
George Washington freely gave up the Presidency of the United States, and went back to Mount Vernon of his own volition. He is the complete antithesis of socialists/communists and is my favorite President.
His European contemporaries were flabbergasted that a man with that much power would freely relinquish it, but he did. In so doing, he set the stage for every President after him to have to do the same. I admire John Adams, but had he been the first President I wonder how different our country might have become. Thank God (and I mean the real God) Washington won that first election.
George Washington and most of our Founder’s were uncommonly great men. Let me repeat that, as time passes and we watch the politics of the world, including our own, we see just how fortunate we were to have these UNCOMMONLY great men as our Founder’s.
It’s a small man that only thinks about himself. Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Minh, Pol Pot, Castro, Chavez, Ortega, and on and on.
These men preach how they are only helping the little people, but they are really only about their own wealth, their own fame, and their own power.
Chavez tried a coupe to take power of Venezuela in 1992. It failed miserably. Had Chavez himself been the President of Venezuela he would have had himself shot, end of story. The then President put him in jail for a whole two years. He got out, and became President in 1998, just 6 years after his coupe attempt. He has been President ever since.
He immediately changed everything. He changed the constitution, the legislative branch, the judiciary, and much more. He consolidated power so that he could hold mock elections and keep winning for the rest of his life. Term limits? Eh, just change ‘em. Free Media? Eh, just arrest ‘em.
Daniel Ortega was the President of Nicaragua. He was eventually ousted (Thanks to Reagan’s aid), and should never have seen the light of day again for his crimes. Instead, he is NOW the President again! And just as before, he is consolidating power right out of the Third World Communist Leader’s Handbook. It will be almost impossible to get him out again.
Republic’s are too fair with communists and communists know it. They know they aren’t going to be that fair to the Republics for which they say they serve. For a Republic to survive, it has to rely on the Republicanism of it’s elected officials in each and every election. For a communist country to be born, the communists only have to win one election, one time.
Where are we as a country in all of this? Do we have a great man at the helm? Or do we have one of these small men?
Cheers!
